Emerson Resort & Spa Offers "Kaleidoscope" of Fall Packages

MT. TREMPER, N.Y., August 7, 2008 – Emerson Resort & Spa, a Silk-Road inspired respite in the Hudson Valley, is gearing up for fall. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in the colors of the region with packages designed to highlight the tastes, sights and comforts of the season. Opportunities include The KaleidoKreations event and package offerings for those interested in constructing and admiring the unique art form. The Fall Splendor Package encourages guests to explore and rejuvenate while taking in the area’s kaleidoscope of foliage. Additionally, guests will find a patchwork of colors during the resort’s Material Things exhibit, put on by the Manhattan Quilters Guild.
KaleidoKreations is a week long event taking place from August 30 to September 7 on-site at Emerson Resort & Spa. There will be a dedicated tent featuring Kaleido-entertainment with a series of seven interactive user-friendly scopes. The experience will include a large wheel scope, giant telescope, wand scope, spin art and the human kaleidoscope projector. A KaleidoKocktail will also be debuted at the resort’s Phoenix Restaurant and available throughout the fall.
The opening weekend (August 30 – 31) is geared towards children and families and will feature glass blowing demonstrations by artists Skeeter and Peter DeMattia. Massimo Stino of Imago Kaleidoscopes will display his latest collection of unique scopes in the Gallery and be on-site to discuss his craft. Kaleidoscope artist and instructor Cru Chase will also be on-hand Saturday, August 30 to show children how to make various components of a large five-foot kaleidoscope. Emerson Resort & Spa will showcase the completed masterpiece until the end of KaleidoKreations when it will be donated to a children’s organization. All children’s workshops are free of charge. Room rates at the family-friendly Lodge start at $199.
The second weekend (September 6 -7) is geared towards curious adults who are after the full Kaleido-experience. Whether guests are newcomers, collectors or kaleidoscope experts, KaleidoKreations has something for everyone. Skeeter and Peter will be on-site to demonstrate glass lamp working and kaleidoscope artist Cru Chase will give a closing lecture with his wife, Lisa. The KaliedoKreations package starts at $1,190 for the Resort’s family-friendly Lodge and $1,528 for the adults-only Inn.
Class admission can be purchased separately from package. Pricing is as follows: Level One at $75; Level Two one-day class at $125; Level Two two-day class at $175 per person.
